Court Reporting Fees: Change as of September 5, 2008.

Change in Court Reporting and Transcription Rates
Effective Friday, September 5, 2008

Please note that, as of September 5, 2008, the rates charged by Heritage Reporting Corporation (Heritage) pursuant to a modification of the contract with the court, will change in key respects. These changes take effect for transcript orders placed on or after September 5:

1) There will be a minimum order of 50 pages per item for a certified paper copy and a CD set; see the Heritage Court of Federal Claims "Transcript Order Form" for rates for combined paper and CD set for transcription orders placed prior to the start of the proceeding, or on the first day of a trial proceeding (the CD "set" refers to the disk but will not include a condensed transcript with keyword index, which is a separate charge);

2) if a party or other entity cancels a transcription order prior to the start of the proceeding, it will not incur a charge for that order; if a proceeding commences but concludes prematurely due to settlement, etc., the ordering entity will be charged the applicable rate for transcription up to that point, but will not be subject to a minimum order;

3) the minimum charge applicable for transcription from digital recordings provided by the court to Heritage Reporting is $75.00;

4) transcription services rates are higher for orders placed after the start of proceedings (or after the first day of trial) and will include a charge for CD sets; see the Heritage "Transcript Order Form";
