Notice of Adoption of Amendments to Rules

On May 8, 2023, the court posted notice on its website advising of proposed amendments to its rules and inviting public comment on the proposed amendments by June 22, 2023.  The court hereby adopts the amendments as proposed on its website on May 8, 2023 with some modifications based on public comments.

Molly R. Silfen took the oath of office on June 15, 2023, as a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims

Molly R. Silfen took the oath of office on June 15, 2023, as a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims. President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. nominated Judge Silfen on February 22, 2023, the United States Senate confirmed her on June 8, 2023, and the President appointed her to a 15-year term on June 13, 2023. Judge Alan Lourie of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit administered the oath of office.

Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. §§ 2071(b) and 2503(b), the United States Court of Federal Claims hereby provides notice that it proposes to amend its rules and invites public comment on the proposed amendments.

Inclement Weather - December 15, 2022

Due to inclement weather, the Court of Federal Claims will open 2 hours later than normal.

General Order Regarding 2022 Holiday Closings

The United States Court of Federal Claims will be closed on Friday, November 25, 2022. Additionally, the Court will close at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, December 23, 2022.

In Memoriam: Senior Judge Nancy Beth Firestone, 1951-2022

Senior Judge Nancy Beth Firestone, of the United States Court of Federal Claims, died Monday, October 3, 2022, at the age of 70.   Judge Firestone was appointed to the United States Court of Federal Claims by President William J. Clinton and joined the bench on October 22, 1998.  She took senior judge status on October 22, 2013. 

Judge Firestone was born in Manchester, NH in 1951.  She received her B.A degree from Washington University in 1973 and her J.D. with honors from University of Missouri - Kansas City Law School in 1977.
